Since
registration for the December 30 Days of Lists challenge is open, I figured that it was high time that I do this roundup post featuring all my September 30 Lists pages.
I've been in my craft studio prepping pages for the
December 30 Days of Lists challenge junk journals so I thought a little roundup of some of my lists from the September challenge might be a fun idea. This is the
mixed paper junk journal I used.
Until I have them listed though, you can take a peek at some of the other 30-page journals in my Etsy shop:
THE SEPTEMBER 30 LISTS CHALLENGE
My Story
I love adding in a little "About Me" note or journal card inside the pocket that's formed when I fold over the
kraft paper bag that serves as the cover, read more about it
here.
Another
something new I tried this year, for the first time in 21 challenges, was adding a photograph of myself. Not a fan of selfies and I'm so awkward when I even try to take a selfie...but I did it anyway.
When you flip up the photo, there are a few little tidbits about me.
I Woke Up Feeling Like
This page design is actually one of my favorites in this journal. You can
read more about my process of creating this journal spread.
An Extra Day Off Calls For
...and this silly Mama forgot to turn off the alarm the night before! Gotta love watercolor stripes and metal rimmed tags! More
details about this page can be found here.
My Not So Superpower
So many “not so superpowers” to list, but here’s one that’s always true. Can you relate? I always think that I can do one more thing, one more project, one more responsibility. Sigh.
I've been saving up all those little strips of paper I trim off 12x12 patterned cardstock...because they have some of the cutest patterns...and using them as journaling spots.
This Month
This journal page comes already stamped with the mason jar, I just added some paint to the top to mimic a zinc top and then added my journaling.
My Go To Ways to Relax
Some days, all I want to do is Relax, I mean Read. For this page, I layered and layered underneath that paper doily that came with this journal.
Sounds of September
I wanted to utilize the colorful dots in my page, but didn’t feel like I could write that small so I punched a bunch of different printable rounds that reminded me of “sounds” I would hear around our home this month. I should have added a music note, too, because Isabella walks around the house practicing her music for Singers and Vocal Impact 24|7!
I went through
my stash of 1" rounds and went to town finding words that would be my "sounds" of the month. I've been listing with 30 Lists for a long time, so doing some creative listing is always fun for me. You can
find a few more 1" rounds here.
The Best Parts of My Job
This journal is one I sell in my shop and comes to you with the washi tape and the green arrow die cut embellishments already attached for you. I ended up slipping one of the freebie printables I designed for this round, “the best” under the arrow and also added a number 9 from this printable.
Here you can see how I attached it all to the flap so that I can still open the envelope. The “don’t give up” shipping tag is also part of the free printable I designed and just seemed a perfect fit for my list.
See how I cleverly added the list prompt to the inside of the envelope?
One Cannot Have Too Many
Handmade book page tag and too heavy a hand with the color spray, but it’s still true...one cannot have too many books, black pens and “the perfect jean.”
When I find the perfect jean, which changes every few years for me, I usually buy two to three pair and wear them until it's time for this Mama to update her look again.
When It's Time To Focus...
What’s your go-to “I’ve got to focus” move? Hair up in a messy bun means business for me
I've used the bakers twine embellished scallop die cut embellishment in my journals before, I guess I should do a tutorial to show you how easy they are to create!
Here's another example of this same idea,
using this Christmas printable.
My Daily Rituals
My daily rituals seem more like Mom Bus than anything else these days, but this too shall pass quicker than I imagined so I’ll just soak it all in.
I Am Really Proud Of...
I edged my paper and journal card with a turquoise paper strip, added the “made me smile“ printable label, and the joy word round was trimmed to line up with the journal card edge, added washi tape to the top of the journal card.
So let’s talk about the journal card. It started out with the “THIS” attached, but I altered it by trimming out the banner and trimming the journal card to make it skinnier because I wanted as much of the patterned plant paper to show. It sounds like a lot of work, but once I was in the groove, time passed quickly!
Summer Stories to Share
More paper strips...told you I was a fan!
If I Was Billionaire
I usually journal inside the clouds, but decided to try something different because my list was longer. I positioned my journal card so that it fit perfectly behind the page before it.
Things That Are Better Together
Areas Of My Life That Are Blooming Right Now
How I Am Creating A Live I Love
For something a little different, I used white tags from my Etsy shop for my journaling.
I Feel Lucky When
...my favorite takeaway from today's list: when I have all the ingredients for a recipe! I am the world's worst for having 1/2 cup less of what the recipe calls for.
Upgrades to Make
While I had out my watercolors, I swiped some yellow across the vellum which proceeded to crinkle and roll, but I used it anyway...just adds character and texture.
Things That Take Time But Are Totally Worth the Wait
...totally worth the wait
I trimmed my arrow from this journaling card and added it to my journal using this tutorial. See how sneaky I was to hide my journaling with the arrow card?!?
When I Finish A Big Project
More fun than a girl should have with paper!
I had out some books to make this Embellishment Kit anyway, so I made a tag pocket from a book page, used old number stickers as a mask and then color sprayed before sewing along the edges to form a pocket.
Home Is
I used some orphaned stickers for our street address on the left and the home printable from the freebie set I designed for the September 30 Lists Challenge on the right. And right now, home is in need of a good sweep because of all the cat fluffs!
When I Need Direction...
I sewed two butterfly shapes die cut from dictionary pages down the middle and then journaled on the hidden butterfly. The 3 G’s have never let me down. A few more of these Blue Mixed Paper Junk Journals .
How I Keep My Hands Phone-Free
So, I’m not really as bad as this makes it sound, but I do run a business and social media allows me to connect and share with a lovely audience! Thanks for hanging out with me.
I used one of these labels, folded over, to form a tab that was attached with my Crop-o-Dile on this journaling card.
I Love __________ Time
There are so many good times to be had if we just take a moment to stop and enjoy it while we have it.
When Life Gives You ________, Make __________
We don't always get another chance, even though we pray for them. When life does give you another chance, take it and be grateful.
Notes From This Week
Things I Made This Month
...and a whole lot of messes to ago along with this list, but all totally worth the outcome. Oh yeah, and lists.

Should you be interested in journaling to share your story as well, you can search the blog for my own posts about:
I simply adore the whole process of journaling, of taking just a few moments to share little snippets of what I am "currently" thinking and who I am in a handmade journal. I almost always use
a journal from my shop that I've created from mixed papers, tags, envelopes and other ephemera.
