Are you a habit and goal tracking sort of person?
I'm not. But lately I have have begun to think that I ought to be. Well, over the years I have dabbled in keeping track of a few things in my Filofax planner, hoping to form good {and better} habits, but nothing consistently or with long-term success. I definitely have some habits I would like to make a part of my regular routine and become second nature.
FORMING GOOD HABITS
I've always heard that a habit takes 21 days to form. So I did some research and found this article on habit formation. Totally makes sense, right?I have tried so very hard to make "drinking water" a natural habit, something that is second nature, but after some time I fall back into the dark, deep hole of just grabbing a Dr. Pepper. Ugh. Honestly, sometimes I even forget to drink at all during the day because I often skip lunch. I know, not a good habit at all and definitely not even good for my health.
PLANNING TO FORM A GOOD HABIT
So, I thought that if I had something visual to remind myself to reach my goal, I might do better with actually reaching my goals. I'm all about reaching goals. And rewards! This month, I choose to make drinking 4 glasses of water a day for 20 out of 31 days a priority for me. And then I added it to the front of my A6 travelers notebook. All I have to do is trace inside the number each day I meet my goal.
FREE HABIT TRACKER PRINTABLE
I've included a box for to write a GOAL and then also a box to choose a REWARD.So, if I drink my 4glasses of water for 20 out of 31 days, I'll reward myself with a new skein of yarn...not something I need, but something that I do want. I want to try out a new design crochet project. And since I'm on a NO SPEND month as well, it will be a reward to look forward to.
Love this! Thank you!
