This Week in My Gratitude Journal
When you've been married for 20 years, some days are so very normal. And then other days are so very extraordinary. But not for the reasons the movies tell us make for the perfect day. In everyday life, it's the moments that are often overlooked that make our trip around the sun such a fun ride.
My heart is so warm in the knowledge that Mr. wRight knows me, gets me, understands me. Just knowing that I was on his mind and wanted to do something that would make me smile makes my heart so very full.
my page design
I've been on a watercolor binge lately, I just can't get enough. This time I used purple, which is unusual for me and then added a journaling card. I folded it, because if I didn't it would have covered up my watercolor design. And the foldover gave me room to play around on the back side of the page.
here's what i'm using
When I journaled yesterday, I used this mixed media journal...full of fun hand stamped pages, cardstock, office-inspired paper, tags and bags.
The 2019 journals are in stock and are shipping within 2-3 days of placing your order. If this mixed paper journal is not your thing, here are some other options for you to take a look at.

September 30 Days of Lists | Days 6 - 13
We're more than halfway through our September 30 Days of Lists challenge and how did that happen? Wowser, this month is flying by. So, let me catch up on some more of my lists.
days 6 - 13 of 30 Days of lists
Day 6 | ________ Makes Everything Better
Always. Forever. It works, trust me. When your day is just kind of crappy, try it. In my experience, my day instantly turns around and I feel more upbeat and ready to tackle the problem.
I hacked up the tag from the freebie download I designed for this challenge and then trimmed it into two pieces. One as a holder for my number, hole punching it and adding the number 6 sticker. I tied the mini tag to the leftover twine from my Day 5 hand stitching with bakers twine experiment.
The leftover part from the tag I used for my number 6 sticker that says “all day long” was added to my “makes me smile” journaling card.
Day 7 | Reasons to FriYay
You can download your vey own FRIYAY journaling cards, too. I trimmed mine to fit the space and used washi tape to attach. Then I trimmed down the Project Life card that was included with the journal and glued the patterned strip to the front so it would peek out of my paper bag pocket.
Day 8 | Things I Can Do To Help Future Me
I used a journaling card as a jump start. I’ve been trying to get better at just saying yes to adventure and not letting home projects, I didn’t wash my hair, it’s too hot or anything else have an impact. Plus it makes the person asking so much happier if I just go along with their plan!
Day 9 |
For today’s list, I used one of the free printables from the set I designed and added a strip of skinny washi tape. Then I folded over the extra and stapled it to my page with my tiny attacher to form a sort of page tab.
I don’t use my Crop-o-Dile very often these days, but I pulled it out to use on the placeholder for my list number.
If you like those skinny tags I've been using, tell me what you think of this cutie pie set.
Day 10 | My Subscriptions
I'll probably always subscribe to BH&G, it has a little bit of everything I love...Recipes, Decorating, Family, Reviews.
I struggled with today's list, intially. I have already answered variations of this question a number of times for listing challenges in the past and didn't want to list the same old, same old. I had even pre-embellished my page.
Then, today, I remembered that it was 9.11 and all kinds of memories flooded my mind. Seventeen years ago, I was still working as an Asst VP and Director of Markeing, a Mama of one {now three} and only three years into my blissful life with Mr. wRight.
Oh my, how our world changed on that day in 2001.
Day 12 | Favorite Things To Display in Our Home
I love layers and hidden journaling. Not that anything on this list is top secret, but it was fun to play around a little bit anyway. The polka dot paper strips are actually the reverse side of the journaling card that needed to be trimmed to fit inside the glassine bag. Why let them go to waste, use it all up!
I thought I would have letter stickers to fit in the blank space I left when journaling. But I didn’t. So out came my clear stamps to just barely fit in the word beach. I tore my letter “h” pulling it off the backer sheet, but was still able to make it work. I’m glad I didn’t have stickers to fit after all because this design win makes me smile! I even stamped the ampersand, punched it out and added a foam dot for a little more flair.
You can find the Sunshine for Days journaling card in this set.
