I've had the idea of meal planning on my To Do list for a while, but have not taken that first step. Well, yesterday I did. It was a baby step, as in all I did was fill in a few meal ideas from items we already had in the fridge. I got the nudge from a Facebook group I am a member of, Planner Addicts, or I probably would still not have a system in place.
With after-school activities, basketball practices, TeamKids at the Church and any and everything else, it was time for me to take control of the 4:30 pm question to myself each evening, "What am I going to cook for dinner?"
I've designed this jotter so that you can still see the dates at the top and the Filofax name at the bottom of the Personal sized {and probably Compact, too} pages. Once you download, I have a few directions on the sheet for you.
Ideally, I would like to overhaul my recipe collection to have a smaller collection of recipe books contain our favorite and most used recipes in binders instead of me culling through each cook book to find the recipe ingredients and instructions.
Baby steps, yes, but at least I have a plan in place for now, knowing that there's hope for more organized meal planning in our future. Stay tuned for recipe cards sized to fit in a half size binder from Target that are so, so cute, which shall take my meal planning to the next level.

Trotted on over from PA! Thanks for creating this cute meal plan "jotter" for us!
ReplyDeleteSo good to have a new visitor! Welcome to the blog Rosey!
DeleteI would like to do a recipe book with pictures of our favorite recipes... I can't wait for your recipe cards ;)
ReplyDeleteI can't wait to be organized either, and will share as soon as I get a plan together, Sonia! Thanks for dropping in!
DeleteThank you so much Monika! I've enjoyed getting caught up on your blog!
ReplyDeleteI hope that you enjoy the download Sheri!
DeleteYay! And you even got it done on Friday. Only one small problem on my end...I can't get it to print the correct size. It's downloading really small. Any ideas as to what I'm doing wrong? Btw, if it matters, I have a Mac.
ReplyDeleteI designed this download on a Mac, too! By small, how small is it printing? The download prints two per page and is sized to be roughly 4" wide by 6.50" tall so that it fits between the two lines at the top and bottom of a Personal size Filofax Week on 2 pages calendar layout. Let me know it it's printing smaller than that and I'll see if I can help. Did you choose the correct size paper as 8.50 x 11" and perhaps check Fit to Size?
DeleteI have checked all that. It is printing so that each side is about 2 3/4" wide by 4" tall. It seems to be downloading as a jpeg and then opening in Preview. Sorry to be a pain.
ReplyDeleteSave the document to your hard drive or desktop and print from there instead of from preview. If you've already done that, I'm not sure where the problem is.
DeleteMine too! Will you have it in your shop in any other sizes for those of us without a Filofax? I love the idea!
ReplyDeleteThanks! This is just what I need!
ReplyDeleteYay! I was hoping you'd post this up!! :)
ReplyDeleteThank you so much. Can you convert it to a PDF? When I download it's in JPG format and for some reason it doesn't let me convert it. As a JPG, it prints really fuzzy for me. Thank you so much!
ReplyDeleteAre you printing the document as letter size {8.50 x 11}? It should print clearly for you at that size, Maribel.
DeleteSame here, the .jpeg prints really fuzzy like it's too low quality to print at the letter size. They are super cute though....they just aren't printing well for me. That goes for all of the downloads I have tried to print from here. They download as jpeg and not as Adobe Docs which would probably print better.
ReplyDeleteAfter you download the file, save it to your computer rather than printing from Preview. Each person's computer and printer settings are different....sorry I can't trouble shoot further for you!
DeleteThanks for dropping by and taking the time to comment today.
Hi!
ReplyDeleteLove the planner. I have a pocket size. Do you have the planner ajusted for that size too? Please...:)
Thank you!!!!
I don't have it adjusted for the Pocket size, Caco, but when you go to print, play around with reducing the size {percentage} that you print at and it may work for you that way. Good luck!
DeleteHI!
ReplyDeleteTryinig to get it adjusted, but I have the same problem that all the ladies before, it saves on the desktop very fuzzy, no matter which size do I print it:(
Have been in your etsy shop, love it! Are you planning to sell any filofax stuff?
Love your blog:)
Yes, it seems that some people have issues printing printables, but thousands of people have downloaded files that I've designed and it seems to work for most. Try playing around with your printer and make sure you are printing on an 8.50 x 11 piece of paper or cardstock and that you've chosen to print at 100%. Each printer is different, I know, as I have two that I use and printer settings are different for each of them when I go to print files. Wish I could be of more help...perhaps check your printer manual you'll find tips there that will help you in printing files. Hoping it works out for you!
DeleteHi Monika, Sorry to be a pain but I seem to be having the same trouble as those above. I checked the comments because I thought maybe I had missed something. I am on a PC and print from downloads all the time so I'm fairly certain I know what I'm doing to an extent (LOL) ;) I have saved the file and am not printing from the preview. I have actually even pulled it into Photoshop to print from there and it is still doing the same thing. It is wanting to print the entire document at about 5.5x4.75 instead of 8 1/2 x 11. I have the correct paper selected and have tried and tried again. I've been printing other downloads since last night and haven't had a problem.
ReplyDeleteJust thought I'd let you know that in case that might help pinpoint the issue. Thanks.
