Now begins the next fun part of making a mini album, filling it with memories and words and scraps of paper and lots of photos. Welcome to Days 1 - 3 of the April Month in the {Wright} Life journal. You can see the basis of my mini book and the how and why each page design in this Month in the Life post.
Day 1 | April Fool's Day
Gordon begins deconstructing the small deck off our kitchen door, which also happens to be the entrance everyone uses to enter our home. His favorite part of any project is the demolition. I have always hated tracking in all the dirt and rocks and gunk right into the kitchen, especially now that we have hardwood floors in the kitchen as well. I have been wanting a mud room since we moved in and Zach was a wee tike. He's now 20. Trying to be creative, I printed my four photos rather small and then circle punched them in 3/4" and 1" circles to fit inside the round shapes.
I used foam pop dots to lift the photos off the page and make it just a little bit more fun.
Day 2 | Oh Happy Day
When I created this mini book using the January Cocoa Daisy kit, I had no idea what would occur when and what the day would bring. Just so happens that I had taken photos of the girls helping me with some planting which is just a perfect compliment to the page I had pre-designed. I slipped the Instagram photo behind my paper strip to fill up the long bit of driveway I captured in the shot. The only thing I added to the page was the cardstock sticker, which mimics a sun and the letter stickers.
Decided to use the lined pattern for some journaling. See the brown graph-style patterned paper? It's the back of the April Fool's Day page where I detail the beginning of our mud room project and I'll more than likely add some plans and drawings of the renovation here as the month goes on.
DESIGN TIP | Use some baby powder on any part of a sticker where you want to remove the stickiness...it reverts back to just a piece of cardstock!
Day 3 | My April To Do List
I used the lowercase letter o from a mini alpha stamp set to the left of each item on my list, which I attached with a strip of wash tape at the top of the list, so that I can color it in when I've accomplished each part of my list. I even stamped an extra letter o in case I need to add yet another item. The yellow clip will be used for fun things I might want to add or perhaps photos of the accomplished item off my list.
Want to make a mini like mine? You can find the same kit I'm using here. Tell 'em Monika sent you!
Love how you have been filling this up; I can see it will definitely be a treasured keepsake!! Have fun with the renovation too.
