three new colors

At The Twinery today, three new colors are debuting and Denim, Buttercream and Stone {as well as the ELEVEN other colors} are on sale ---> SPOOLS are just $12 each!

And as a Design Team member, I was lucky enough to already have those perfectly luscious colors to create with. I wasn't able to photograph the layout I created, but I'll upload that in just a while. In the meantime, I'll show you what I created with the scraps from my 8.50x11 layout {cut from a 12x12}.

Using the Countryside  collection from Studio Calico, which I won from The Scrap Review, I made some backpack tags for the girls with some vertical badge holders I purchased at WalMart. The letter stickers are from Jenni Bowlin Studio, the pom pom's were made using Blossom, Buttercream and Denim, which worked out well for us...Isabella's backpack is pink and Victoria's is blue, a win|win situation for sure!

Yes, the book marks were made with scraps, too, but this time I used some baker's twine in Stone, one of the new colors from The Twinery, which brings out a different aspect of the very same paper. Add some rub-ons and a label sticker, both from the Studio Calico goodies, add a length of The Twinery twine and another project complete. 

I punched out small flower shapes from the bookmarks and backpack tags and embellished the book mark twine strands with the punched shapes. You can see here that I made a knot, added the hole punched flower shape and then made another knot to hold the flower in place. Maybe too girly for the boys, but you could use a star shape or even a chipboard die cut to achieve the same effect.
