I did something uncharacteristic of me. I entered a challenge, specifically this one at October Afternoon. I had some October Afternoon Detours collection papers that were gathering dust and some photos that were already printed...what did I have to lose? Nothing at all. I would be gaining two finished layouts of the two cutest girls in town, though!
On my Isabella layout, I focused on adding a bit more of the pink papers and elements, since she is a PINK girl through and through. Did you notice that I didn't use a title on either page, instead allowing the journaling cards to be the title?
You might think that Isabella has some dirt above her left eyebrown. Not so lucky. She actually had to get three stitches just days before her 8th birthday. The girls were playing and her boo boo was just deep enough to require a trip to Children's Hospital. But, wow, look at her though. She is a true beauty, so regal in her bearing. I'll be sure to share an updated photo soon, you can barely even see where the stitches were.
For Victoria, there was no other choice but focus on the blue. She's been a blue girl since she could tell us she like blue the best. I did manage to sneak in a little pink as well. Yes, she has stitches on her forehead, too, from about 3 years ago. Hers are vertical, rather than horizontal, and I think you will notice hers more since they're in the middle of her forehead. Of course, they don't take away from her dazzling beauty and personality at all!
Both photos were taken on the first day of school {which also happened to be Isabella's 8th birthday} but I only used Victoria's photo to commemorate the occasion. The journaling card highlights the special activities at school each day of the week and my journaling talks of her total immersion in Kindergarten...she loves it, no tears for this girl!
Tell Victoria that BLUE is the BEST color E.V.E.R.....has always been and always will be my favorite color too!
ReplyDeleteIt's so cool that you used journaling instead of a title. So crafty clever! Adorable pages.
ReplyDeleteP.S. We have something in common. I have 2 girls too. :)
What darling layouts and I love how you used twine for journaling lines on the second lo!
