School's been out for us since May 20th, so we're already heading into our 3rd week of Summer vacation. I know, crazy, crazy. So, these quick, cute teacher's gifts have already been gifted but perhaps you'll have time to create a few for the teacher's in your child's life before you begin your Summer!
I began by choosing the Family Forever line of papers from Momenta. Lately, I have been crushing on all colors and flavors of aqua blue and sea green, so I jumped at the chance to use this collection. And how lucky for me that The Twinery also has two colors {out of a whopping 11} that coordinate so well with these papers, Caribbean and Lemondrop.
Using this Fiskars punch, I embellished the edges of the double-sided patterned cardstock from Momenta and folded it half. I punched holes through these glassine bags, added the cardstock flap, attached two gift tags and tied it off with my doubled-up strands of baker's twine.
Wondering what I put inside this sweet little gift bag? I used the monogram2build set of interchangeable acrylic stamps from Stamps of Life to embellish these quickie note cards. Using smooth white cardstock for my base and Lemon Drops and Cough Syrup inks from Jenni Bowlin Studio for some added color, I just scored the top of the card and folded it over.
I embellished some of the cards with more patterned paper from Momenta and baker's twine from The Twinery, a butterfly punch and even changing up different ink colors for the border and sentiments. Here you'll see that I sewed the middle of some of the butterflies and just used my stapler to attach other butterflies.
This just happens to be my favorite design. The colors, the tied twine, the stamp...makes me smile. And I think I'm going to make a large supply of this whole collection to have on hand. My Mom just adores a cute notecard to send to friends, so this will be a surprise "Just Because" gift for her.
Come to think of it, I guess it wouldn't hurt to make some for next year's Teachers, as the new school year will be here before I know it. And this year, I'll have two little ones in school. EEEK, my last baby is headed to Kindergarten.
You did a great job on these! I know the teachers loved them.
ReplyDeleteA question: Did you use a punch to create the scalloped white card (where you stamped A Note For You)? Or are you super-talented with scalloped scissors? :-)
Thanks!!!
Super adorable cards. Love the butterfly. :)
ReplyDeleteCute projects, Monika. I'm partial to that gorgeous aqual one, as well. Great use of the glassine envelope, too!
ReplyDeleteThese are absolutely DARLING!
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing Monika!
