button bangle, or is it a bracelet?

During my latest week hosting at Write.Click.Scrapbook., I had the opportunity to play with lots and lots of Jenni Bowlin Studio goodies. And, as we all know, after a crafting project, there are always bits and pieces left on our craft desks.

To make a handful of buttons and pearl embellishments even more fun, measure your wrist and add about an inch. Cut your elastic, head over to your sewing machine and stretch your elastic as far as you can as you sew your favorite color seam binding down the middle. Stretching the elastic makes the seam binding bunch up when it's released. Trust me.

Now gather as many, or as few, buttons as you want and put them in a pleasing line-up. I did this on my craft desk before sewing them with my embroidery floss to my elastic strip. I noticed that I did not have enough buttons to fill in as fully as I wanted so I took more seam binding and did a running stitch, by hand with more embroidery floss, and pulled it taut and knotted it. I used that as an embellishement between and behind some of the buttons.

Use your embroidery floss to fasten the two ends together, forming your bangle/bracelet. Now, go out and show off your awesome, crafty creation made from your scrap scraps!
