We had a little time in town and then headed for home. My husband is famous for making trips exciting by not taking the same route twice. This means that if I see something picture-worthy or interesting, I had better tell him right then, right now or it will be gone...we won't be seeing it on the way home. That said, I'm not complaining, it's what makes life fun and adventurous with Mr. wRight!
find these 3" book rings in the shop
In all my years, I had never seen Spanish Moss. I had to ask Gordon what it was. So cool to see it hanging from the trees. And all the flowers were in bloom, too. Oddly I have no pictures of that. The window boxes full of geraniums remind me of Bavaria, Germany where my Mom's sister and her family live. {My Mom is from Munich and my Tante and Onkel and their 3 kids and 8 grandkids all live in the area.} No one does beautiful window boxes like the Germans!
A note about a few of our favorites and then begin the notes about our trip home. Sticking out from the back, you'll see that we've included some of the pamphlets and brochures from our visit.
I cut up a map showing our route home, similar to how I used the map here on the post for Day 1. I also thought that the changes in elevations was pretty interesting so I included that, too.
And, you know how I love to add envelopes and receipts to my mini's. The label is a free download from Creativity Prompt. There are fab free downloads very, very often, so just do a search for them. Avital is a very talented designer, you'll see.
When I received this mailing envelope, I saved it knowing that it would come in handy. I loved that it had the number 2 on it! I cut it down and used my Fiskars border punch on the edge and then used baker's twine as a closure for the envelope. It houses our "stuff."
We're at the end my friends. The end of a lovely, memorable, fun adventure. The end of another mini-album that got bigger and fatter with memories than I thought it would. The end of this post.
Although I had camera issues, I was still able to capture our trip so that we'll remember these moments when we're old and gray. Okay, I am older and I do have some gray hair, but you know what I mean.
Oh Monika what a great album, I've really enjoyed peeking into it the last few days!!
ReplyDeleteI have all the bits and pieces set aside from our trip to the UK last year and have wanted to do something like this but didn't really know how to put it all together.
You have given me the inspiration I needed. Thanks :)
Besides making me want to do this album, I also want to visit Charleston and eat at Coast!!
ReplyDeleteThanks for all the freebie links this week...I'm all about the free stuff.
I have to ask, did you get your camera fixed? I would stroke if my Nikon died while on vacay. I take A LOT of pics.

ReplyDeleteI printed my photos at home, not on the road. I just adhered them to whatever fit on the other side. I guess you could do that at a drugstore or one-hour photo place, but I usually like to edit and crop a bit before printing.
Wow, what a GORGEOUS mini Album. I love it!!!
